Coral Springs, FL (December 2021) – Inspiring Warriors Golf held its inaugural event and it was by all who participated a great success.
Hosted by the Parkland Golf and Country Club, we also held days at the Coral Ridge Country Club, Fort Lauderdale, and the prestigious Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach. Many thanks to PGA Professionals Paul Crespo, Scott Fox, and John Nieporte for opening their esteemed facilities to our wounded program. It could not have been any better!
Our instructors were on target all week with our golf instruction. Headed by PGA Professionals Russ Holden and Bob Ford, we also had University of Tennessee player Kayla Holden, former PGA Professional Kirk Grant. Chipping in with a pun intended were Board Members Bill Conwell and Walter Wasnieski. Everyone, learned a lot about golf and life indeed.
The guest speakers were over the top. Headed up by 9-time MAJOR winner and golf legend Gary Player. His presence alone was simply phenomenal and much appreciated. World Golf Hall of Famer Dennis Walters gave his typical incredible performance and highlighted overcoming adversity. Dan Boever had us laughing and in awe of his massive skills and was a true pleasure to watch.
Of course getting to spend time with a President is never anything but an awesome experience and this one was just that. President Trump opened his own golf course to basically anything we needed or wanted and was personally on site to say hello to everyone and thank them for their service. He spent nearly an hour with our group of wounded veterans and it was a time none will ever forget.
We laughed, we learned, we ate, we had fun. These men and women were able to spend time with their battle buddies and it was sensational. This led us to believe that this was good, and we should continue.
Our relationship was cemented with The Warrior’s Journey. Kevin Weaver stayed the entire week and even spoke one night about their organization which is so critical to veterans lives and the struggles that they endure. It captured the essence of Inspiring Warriors Golf not only this week, but for every event in the future as well.
